Have you ever had a crap, crappy day and just gone and impulse-shopped for makeup believing that a) you deserve a pick-me-up and/or b) buying something will make you feel better? Well, I blame a crappy day for a little makeup hauling I did last week and among my new acquisitions is this Guerlain lip gloss in La Petite Robe Noire and I actually love it.

I bought this knowing that I already have more lip products than I know what to do with and because of that it should have brought on a case of buyers remorse but the fact is I am so glad I bought this. Guerlain is a brand I normally don’t pay much attention to but I have to say their lip glosses are really top notch; non sticky and moisturizing in subtle, classy packaging. Even though the gloss is non sticky I do feel that it has decent staying power, bearing in mind, though, that I never have crazy expectations of lip products lasting through entire meals or an entire day of work.

La Petite Robe Noire is a mauve shade with golden micro-shimmer running through it. It is not opaque but pigmented enough to give a sophisticated shade to the lips and a subtle sheen. It was very hard to capture the color in a picture but I did the best I could and I think the above swatch is pretty close.
If you’re looking for a lip gloss that is subtle and a great for an everyday effortless look I highly recommend you check out this one. Guerlain does have a lot of other shades in the range though and several shades that swatched more pigmented so if you’re looking for a stronger color but want something moisturizing this line will definetly have something for you.
